SQUIGLE toothpaste has 36% by weight of Xylitol – to profoundly inhibit the growth of plaque. Plaque can cause mouth ulcers. The more Xylitol in your toothpaste, the less plaque buildup in your mouth. The less plaque in your mouth, the less ulcers in your mouth.

Some SLS-free toothpastes have little or no Xylitol. Such toothpastes can only remove plaque while you brush. But they do nothing to inhibit the growth of plaque and plaque acids between brushings, the way Xylitol does. If you are using a toothpaste with little or no Xylitol, now you know why it may not be preventing canker sores as well as you had hoped.
